ADD: Kyle Brodziak

Posted by on December 14

Generally when you come by fantasy hockey advice you are looking for players you have heard of to add to your roster so I imagine you took a pause even opening this article. Fair enough. I deserve that. But hear me out on this one …

Kyle Brodziak leads the Wild in goals this season so far. That’s right, he has the most goals on the league’s best team (thus far). That should be enough to warrant a look right there. But there is more. On a team with some serious top line depth he slips into second line duty with Nick Johnston and Cal Clutterbuck meaning he has two strong forwards to clear space for him to work against weaker defensive units that are trying to keep Captain Koivu, Heater et al in check. Brodziak is also no stranger to the box just recently escaping suspension for a nasty hit on Anze Kopitar. So to wrap up here we have a goal scorer who has a handful of points on the power play and can still pick up some valuable PIM himself.

Not too shabby for a seventh round draft pick eh? He might not lead the team at the end of the season but pick him up for a short ride until he gains some notoriety then bam flip him in another deal later in the season. Classic buy low, sell high.

Go get him kids.
