Jersey of the Day: #81 Kessel USA

“To be honest I wasn’t that impressed with USA’s 2010 olympics jersey on TV, but when I saw the jersey in person that all changed. The detailing on the jersey’s sleaves are very intricate  including the Statue of Liberty torch, and at the bottom of the sleeves “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave” is written. I’m a huge Leafs fan so it was quite easy to pick Phil Kessel. Thankfully for Canadians Phil didn’t bury one in OT before Crosby made history!

Kessel is off to a hot start for the Leafs by leading the league with 9 goals and 16 points. It is important for the Leafs that Kessel minimizes his scoreless draughts. A full season with Joffrey Lupul and the addition of centre Tim Connolly should help Kessel with more consistent production.”
