“I got this picture signed by Brian Campbell when the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup in 2010. Campbell got the Cup for one day, where he brought it to his hometown of Strathroy, Ontario. He brought it to the local arena where hundreds of people lined up to get Campbell’s autograph and/or a picture with the Stanley Cup. I got the picture signed after leaving work early and waiting in line to get Campbell’s autograph.
Campbell has been a cornerstone in General Manager Dale Tallon’s rebuild of the Florida Panthers where Campbell had been a defencemen for the Stanley Cup Blackhawks. Tallon has recruited other pieces from his Stanley Cup winning Blackhawks for the Panthers such as Kris Versteeg and Thomas Kopecky. Campbell has been a scoring machine for the Panthers with 31 points in 39 games. Criticized for his heavy contract when he was on the Blackhawks, in Florida his contract is welcomed to help the Panthers reach the salary cap floor. Campbell is making the most of his chance with a new team and already has more points than in 65 games last season with the Blackhawks.
The Panthers are off to their best start in franchise history with a 20-12-7 record and currently sit in third in the Eastern Conference. Look for Campbell to continue to rack up assists and lead the Florida defence in their rebuild.”
Thanks to Brian for sending in his beauty jersey!
