Chances are, you drafted Gonchar with the hopes that his history of being bad in his first year with a new team meant he would bounce back as usual with the Senators in year two … take it from me as a Senators fan: Gonchar has lost his mojo.
In his first two games Gonchar not only looked slow, but completely lost at times. Last year, he was an attrocious -15 rating with only 27 points in 67 games … a far cry from his usual north of 50 point-region in years past. Thus far, Gonchar is a -3 rating and 1 assist in two games. This may seem like we’re hitting the panic button a bit early, but everything the experts said about the Senators’ likely struggles this year appear to be prophetic and there is no reason to believe Gonchar will be anything close to the offensive dynamo he once was.
Just cut your losses early, before his plus-minus rating really begins to burn you.
If you don’t believe me, watch how soft #55 in white is on most of these goals against the Sens. A bad sign of things to come.
