Stanley Cup Finals
- Game 6 -

Three months after the 2012 NHL playoffs began, the 8th seeded Los Angeles Kings have been crowned Stanley Cup champions thanks to a lopsided 6-1 win over the New Jersey Devils in game 6 last night. The Kings completed one of the most dominating cup runs in memory going 16-4 through the postseason and knocking off the top three teams in the Western Conference before dispatching the Eastern Conference champion Devils on home ice.
The final game of the series will unfortunately be remembered for a major boarding penalty assessed to the Devils Steve Bernier in the first period which put the game out of reach early. The Kings would score three times on the 5 minute powerplay beginning with this spectacular tip-in by Dusting Brown after some fantastic puck movement by LA’s powerplay. The size and skill up and down their lineup broke down opponents series after series as they were too much for anyone to handle. Congratulations to the LA Kings organization on their first ever Stanley Cup in their 44 year history.
