Highlight of the Day
March 20th, 2012
– Winnipeg at Pittsburgh -
After recording five points last night in an 8-4 win over the Winnipeg Jets, Malkin has stretched his scoring lead to 9 points over Steven Stamkos. Malkin is having the kind of season that will make him a strong contender for the Hart Trophy at the end of the year. In Crosby’s absense Malkin carried the load and kept the Pens in a strong position headed into the playoffs. Now that Crosby is back and the two are finding time on the same lame, the scoring is only going to increase. In last night’s game Malkin recorded his 200th career goal while him, James Neal and Sid combined for 13 points. Goalies all through the Eastern conference are having nightmares about the Pens lethal offense.
