This jersey belongs to Jeff Lindsay of Toronto, Ontario.
#6 Shea Weber Nashville Predators Home Jersey.
“Shea Weber was drafted 49th overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. It would only take a few seasons for Weber to establish himself as an elite defenceman with the Predators. Weber has the ability to dominate at all ends of the rink. The 6 foot 4 defenceman brings a great physical defensive game alongs with one of the best slapshots in the game. Weber was named the fifth captain in Predators franchise history in 2010.
After Weber and the Predators were unable to come to contract terms this past offseason, the restricted free agent’s contract went to a salary arbitrator to decide on fair terms. Weber was awarded the highest salary arbitration contract in NHL history at $7.5 million over one-year.
Currently in Weber’s seventh season with the Predators, he has 10 goals and 33 points in 44 games. His $7.5 million contract is due to expire at the end of the season which will send Weber back into restricted free agency. The Predators locked down star goaltender Pekka Rinne for a seven-year $49 million contract earlier in the season, but now have to worry about the situation with Weber and their other elite defenceman Ryan Suter, who becomes an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. The Predators will have to decide soon whether or not they have the financial capability to keep their three stars together or whether they need to recuperate assets at the trade deadline.”
Thanks to Jeff for sending in his jersey!
