#13 Teemu Selanne Autographed Winnipeg Jets Home Jersey.
“Tonight marks the return of Teemu Selanne to Winnipeg where his NHL career began. In his 19th NHL season at the age of 41, Selanne will make his first trip back to Winnipeg since being traded in 1996. Selanne was drafted 10th overall in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft by the Jets. “The Finnish Flash” played four seasons with the Jets before the trade in 1996 to the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Selanne’s rookie season with the Jets will always standout as one of the best season by a Jet. Selanne would break the record for rookie goals and scoring with an incredible 76 goals and 132 points. This Calder Trophy winning record setting season is highly unlikely to be beat in this day and age. When the Finnish rookie broke the former record of 54 goals set by Mike Bossy, he famously threw his glove in the air and shot it down as if he were duck hunting.
Since being traded from the Jets, Selanne has played for the Ducks, San Jose Sharks, and Colorado Avalanche. He won the Stanley Cup with the Ducks in the 2006-07 season. Selanne sits 23rd in all-time NHL scoring with 1,371 points in 1,290 games. So far this season the Finnish winger has 31 points in 31 games with the Ducks.
Selanne will be about the only player that the Winnipeg crowd will not boo. Expect a huge standing ovation and to see a bunch of Selanne jerseys in the crowd tonight. It would be great to see Selanne score a goal against his former team tonight.”
Thanks to Justin for sending in his beauty jersey!
